Real sizeChoose 96 DPI real size in mm, 1 unit = 1 mm, or fit to a width you type.
Accurate curvesBezier curves and arcs become fine polylines; circles stay true circles.
Colours keptLine colours become DXF colour numbers, useful for cut and engrave layers.
How to use SVG to DXF
- Press Select SVG file.
- Check the preview and choose size and curve accuracy.
- Press Convert to DXF and open it in your CAD or cutting software.
Prepare your SVG
- Convert text to outlines (paths) in your design program first – DXF has no fonts.
- Only lines and outlines are converted; fills, gradients and pictures are not part of a DXF.
- Have a PNG or JPG logo? Make an SVG first with Image to SVG.
About the formats
- SVG is a vector format made of shapes and paths instead of pixels. It stays sharp at any size and is used for logos, icons and illustrations on the web.
- DXF is the Drawing Exchange Format created by Autodesk. Every CAD, CNC, laser-cutting and plotting program can read it.
SVG to DXF for laser cutting, CNC and CAD
- Paths, shapes, circles and curves become DXF lines, arcs and polylines that LightBurn, LaserGRBL, Fusion 360, AutoCAD and most CNC software can import.
- Curves are turned into smooth segments; choose a higher precision for small, detailed parts.
- Set the units (mm or inches) so the part comes out the right size.
Tips
- Convert text to paths in your design program first – DXF has no fonts.
- Have a picture instead of an SVG? Trace it with Image to SVG first.
Frequently asked questions

Which DXF version is made?
A widely compatible ASCII DXF (R12 style) with lines, polylines and circles that every CAD and CAM program reads.
Which units are used?
Millimetres when you choose real size or a width; otherwise one SVG unit becomes one drawing unit.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The file is opened and converted inside your browser on your own phone or computer and is never sent to our server.
