How to use PDF to Word

  1. Press Select PDF file and choose your PDF.
  2. Choose Editable text (recommended) or Exact look.
  3. Press Convert to Word and download your DOCX file.

Editable text or exact look?

Editable text rebuilds the words of your PDF as normal Word paragraphs, so you can fix a typo, change a price or reuse the text. It works best with PDFs that were created from Word, Google Docs or other software. Complex layouts with many columns or tables may need small fixes after converting.

Exact look places a picture of every page in the Word file. The document looks exactly like the PDF, but the text cannot be edited. Use it when the layout matters more than editing.

Tips

Frequently asked questions

Is this PDF to Word converter free?
Yes. You can convert as many PDFs as you like without paying, signing up or seeing a watermark in your Word file. There is no daily limit and no “premium” button – every option on the page is free.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs inside your own browser, so the PDF is read and turned into a DOCX file on your phone or computer. Nothing is sent to us, which makes it safe for CVs, bank letters, contracts and other private papers.
Will the formatting stay the same?
Text, headings, paragraphs, bold, italic and lists are kept so you can edit easily. A PDF stores every word at a fixed position while Word uses flowing text, so complex layouts with columns, text boxes or tables can shift a little. If you need the pages to look identical, choose “Exact look”, which keeps each page as a picture inside Word.
Can I convert a scanned PDF to Word?
A scanned page is a photo, so there are no words for the converter to read – the page is placed in Word as an image. To get editable text, first run the file through OCR PDF, then convert the result to Word.
Which Word versions can open the file?
The result is a standard .docx file. It opens in Microsoft Word 2007 and newer, Word on Android and iPhone, Google Docs, LibreOffice and WPS Office.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Open the page in Chrome, Safari, Samsung Internet or Firefox, choose the PDF from your Files app and download the DOCX. You can then open it in the Word or Google Docs app on your phone.
