How to use PDF to Excel
- Press Select PDF file and choose your PDF.
- Choose one sheet per page or one sheet for everything.
- Press Convert to Excel and download the .xlsx file.
How the conversion works
The tool reads every word on the page together with its position. Words that line up vertically become a column, and words on the same line become a row. Text that wraps onto a second line inside a cell is joined back together.
Best results
- Works with PDFs made by a computer (from Word, Excel, accounting or banking software).
- Scanned pages are pictures: run OCR PDF first.
- Check totals after converting – complicated layouts with merged cells can need small fixes.
Which PDFs convert well to Excel?
- Bank statements, price lists, invoices and reports that were created digitally (not scanned).
- Tables with clear columns – the columns are found from the position of the text.
Tips
- Check numbers after converting: amounts like 1,234.50 are turned into real numbers you can add up.
- Scanned statements need OCR PDF first; very faint scans may need manual fixes.
- Each PDF page can become its own sheet, or all rows can go into one sheet.
