How to use Resume Builder
- Fill in your details – or press Fill with an example to see how it works.
- Choose a design, a colour, a font and a text size. The preview updates as you type.
- Press Download PDF or Download Word.
Everything a good resume needs
- Personal details with an optional round photo.
- Profile summary – two to four lines that say who you are.
- Work experience with dates and short points for each job, and a “I work here now” option.
- Education, skills and languages, plus extra sections such as certificates, projects, awards or references.
Tips for a resume that gets interviews
- Keep it to one page if you have less than ten years of experience. The preview tells you how many pages you have.
- Start every point with an action word: led, created, improved, managed, sold.
- Add numbers where you can: “Answered 80 customer calls a day”, “Cut costs by 15%”.
- Match the words in the job advert – many companies scan resumes for keywords.
- Use a clear, professional e-mail address and check the spelling twice.
Job websites can read it
The PDF looks exactly like the preview and also contains the words as hidden text, so applicant-tracking systems and job portals can read and search it. The Word file is plain and tidy – ideal when an employer asks for a .docx.
Urdu and other languages
Write your resume in any language. Tick “Urdu / right-to-left” for Urdu or Arabic and the layout turns around automatically.
