How to use Mind Map Maker

Choose From text or file, From a topic or Write it myself.
Press Make mind map. Click an idea to add, rename, colour, add an icon or a note, or ✨ grow it with AI. Drag an idea onto another to move it.
Pick a layout, lines and style, then download PNG, PDF, SVG or Markdown.

Keyboard shortcuts

Tab – add a sub-idea to the selected idea
Enter – add an idea at the same level
F2 or double-click – rename
Delete – delete the idea
Ctrl + Z / Ctrl + Y – undo / redo

Write it yourself – no AI needed

Type one idea per line and indent sub-ideas with spaces (or start lines with “-” or “##”). The first line becomes the centre. You can also open any map as an outline, change it as text and update the map.

Is it free?

Yes – free with no watermark – you only need a free account.

How long can my text be?

Up to about 15,000 words. Long documents are summarised into the main ideas.

Does it work in Urdu?

Yes. Choose Urdu as the language, or leave “Same as the text”.

What if the AI is busy?

For text, a simple map is made from your headings and sentences. You can always type an outline yourself.

Is my text uploaded?

Only for the AI map: the text is sent to Google Gemini through this website and not stored by us. “Write it myself” works entirely in your browser.

How do I connect my own free Gemini key?

Open “🔑 Connect my own free Gemini key” just below the tool. Go to aistudio.google.com/apikey, sign in with your Google account, press Create API key, copy the key, paste it in the box and press Save, then Test my key. It is free and needs no card. Why do I need an account?

This tool uses AI or online services that cost us money to run. A free account (name and e-mail, confirmed with a short code) keeps it fair for everyone. Most of our other tools work without an account.
