Is an electronic signature valid?

In many countries a simple electronic signature like this is accepted for everyday documents such as forms, letters, quotes and agreements. Some documents, for example certain government or court papers, may require a certified digital signature. Check the rules for your document if you are unsure.

For most everyday documents – offer letters, rental agreements, school forms, invoices – a signed PDF is accepted. Some official papers still need a handwritten or certified digital signature, so check with the receiver if you are unsure. This tool adds a visual signature; it does not add a certificate.

How do I sign a PDF on my phone?
Open this page on your phone, choose the PDF, tap Add signature and draw with your finger. Drag the signature to the right place, resize it with the corner dot and tap Save.
Can I use a photo of my signature?
Yes. Sign on white paper, take a photo and choose Upload. The white background is removed automatically so only the ink appears on the document.
Can I type my name instead of drawing?
Yes. Choose Type, write your name and pick a handwriting style. This works well for everyday forms and agreements.
Can I sign on more than one page?
Yes. Go to another page with › and press Add signature again – for example to initial every page and sign the last one.
Is this legally valid?
A signature image is accepted for many everyday documents such as offer letters, school forms and delivery notes. Some official or legal documents require a certified digital signature, so check what the receiver needs.
Is my signature stored?
No. Your signature and document stay in your browser and are not saved or seen by us.
