How to use Split PDF
- Press Select PDF file and choose your PDF.
- Choose how to split: every page, page ranges, every few pages, equal parts or by chapters.
- Press Split PDF and download the result.
How to write page ranges
Separate ranges with commas. For example 1-3, 4-6, 7-end makes three PDFs. A single number such as 5 makes a PDF with only that page. The word end means the last page.
Three ways to split
- Every page as its own PDF – handy for scanned bills, certificates or forms that should be sent one by one. All files come together in one ZIP.
- By ranges – type ranges such as 1-3, 4-10, 11-12 to cut a report into chapters or a book into parts that fit an upload limit.
- Every N pages – split a long scan into equal parts, for example every 2 pages for double-sided ID cards.
Good to know
- Splitting copies the pages exactly – the quality and text stay the same and nothing is recompressed.
- To take only a few pages out as one new file, Extract PDF Pages is quicker; to throw pages away use Delete PDF Pages.
- An upload portal with a size limit (for example 2 MB) may still reject a part with many photos – run the part through Compress PDF.
Frequently asked questions
How do I split a PDF into separate pages?
Choose “Every page as its own PDF” and press Split PDF. You receive a ZIP file that contains one PDF for each page, named in page order.
Can I split by page ranges?
Yes. Choose “By page ranges” and type the parts you want, for example 1-3, 4-10, 11-end. Each range becomes a separate PDF.
Can I extract just a few pages into one file?
Yes – type the pages you want as a single range, or use Extract PDF Pages, which saves your chosen pages together in one new PDF.
Does splitting lower the quality?
No. Pages are copied exactly as they are in the original, so text stays searchable and pictures stay sharp.
How do I open the ZIP file?
On Windows and Mac, double-click the ZIP to see the PDFs inside. On Android and iPhone, open it in the Files app, which unpacks ZIP files with one tap.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Splitting happens entirely in your browser, so your document stays on your device.
