Is SmartPDFConvert really free?
Yes. Every tool is free to use, as often as you like. Most tools need no sign-up at all; a few AI tools ask for a free account. There is no trial period, no daily file limit and no watermark on your documents. The website is supported by advertising, so you never have to pay to unlock a feature.
Are my files uploaded to your servers?
No. SmartPDFConvert tools run inside your web browser, so your PDFs and pictures are processed by your own phone or computer and are not sent to us. That is why the tools also work quickly on slow internet. The only exceptions are Webpage to PDF, where our server opens the public web address you type, and the translation tools, where – outside Chrome on a computer – only the words to translate are sent to our translation service. Your files themselves are never uploaded.
Does it work on mobile phones?
Yes. Every tool works in Chrome, Safari, Samsung Internet, Edge and Firefox on Android phones, iPhones and tablets, as well as on Windows, Mac and Linux computers. Buttons are large enough to tap, and tools such as Sign PDF and Edit PDF work with your finger.
Do I need to install an app or create an account?
No app is needed, and most tools need no account. Open the tool in your browser and use it straight away. A few AI tools, such as the AI Summarizer and Resume Builder, ask for a free account confirmed with an e-mail code. Nothing is installed, which also makes SmartPDFConvert safe to use on a shared or office computer – just close the tab when you are done.
Which tool should I use to make a file smaller?
For PDF documents, use Compress PDF; for PDFs with many photos where you want to keep selectable text, use Web Optimize PDF. For photos, use Compress Image, or Resize Image to KB when a form asks for an exact size such as 50 KB.
Can I use the tools in Urdu?
Yes. You can type Urdu, Hindi and Arabic in tools such as Add Text, Create PDF, Text to PDF and Watermark, and the letters are joined correctly. Image to Text and OCR PDF can read printed Urdu, Hindi and Arabic as well as English.
Is there a limit on file size?
There is no fixed limit set by us. Because the work happens on your device, very large files – for example a 500-page scan – depend on how much memory your phone or computer has. If a big file is slow, close other apps or tabs and try again, or split it first with Split PDF.
