How to use Merge PDF
- Press Select PDF files and choose two or more PDFs.
- Use ↑ ↓ or Sort A–Z to set the order. Type page numbers to use only some pages of a file.
- Choose bookmarks and double-sided options, then press Merge PDF and download.
When to merge PDFs
Merging is useful for job applications (CV, cover letter and certificates in one file), invoices and receipts for a month, scanned chapters of a book or all parts of a report. One file is easier to send, upload and print.
Tips for a perfect merged PDF
- Name files in order before you start – files called 01-cv.pdf, 02-letter.pdf, 03-certificate.pdf appear in the right order automatically, and you only need to drag a file if something is out of place.
- Mixed page sizes are fine – A4 scans and US Letter forms can be merged together. If you want every page to have the same size afterwards, run the result through Resize PDF.
- Large scans? Merge first and then use Compress PDF once on the final file – that gives a smaller result than compressing each part separately.
- Need only some pages from a file? Merge everything, then remove the extra pages with Delete PDF Pages or rearrange them in Organize PDF.
Common problems
- “This PDF is protected” – a file with an open password must be unlocked first with Unlock PDF (you need to know the password).
- Pictures or Word files – turn photos into PDF with JPG to PDF and documents with Word to PDF, then merge them with your other PDFs.
- Bookmarks and form fields – the pages, text, links and pictures are kept. Fillable form fields from different files may be flattened so that fields with the same name do not overwrite each other.

Files that need a password to open must be unlocked first. If you know the password, remove it with Unlock PDF, then merge the unlocked copies.
Is it safe to merge confidential documents?
Yes. The files are combined inside your browser and are never sent to a server, so contracts, statements and ID documents stay on your device.
Can I change the order of single pages?
Merge PDF sets the order of whole files. To move, rotate or delete individual pages afterwards, open the merged file in Organize PDF.
Can I merge PDFs on my phone?
Yes. Tap Select files, pick several PDFs from your Files app or Downloads, put them in order and tap Merge PDF. It works on Android and iPhone without an app.
