How to use PowerPoint Translator

  1. Press Select file and choose your PowerPoint presentation (.pptx) – or paste text into the box.
  2. Choose the language it is in (or “Detect language”) and the language you want.
  3. Press Translate, check the preview and download your translated PowerPoint presentation.

Slides and speaker notes

Titles, text boxes, tables, SmartArt text and your speaker notes are translated. Slide layouts, themes, pictures and animations are kept. Translations can be longer than the original, so give each slide a quick look and adjust a text box if a line no longer fits.

Tips for the best translation

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?
Yes – free, with no sign-up and no watermark. A fair daily limit applies on phones and non-Chrome browsers; in Google Chrome on a computer you can translate as much as you like.
Which languages are supported?
More than 100 languages, including English, Urdu, Arabic, Hindi, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Turkish, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Choose “Detect language” and the original language is found for you.
Are speaker notes translated?
Yes. The notes under each slide are translated too, so you can present in the new language.
How good is the translation?
It is machine translation – great for understanding a document, sharing a draft or preparing a first version. For contracts, medical papers or a book you will publish, have a fluent speaker check the result before you use it.
Is my document uploaded?
Your file itself is opened and rebuilt on your own device. In Google Chrome on a computer the translation also happens on your device. On other browsers and phones only the words that need translating are sent securely to our translation service and are not kept with your name or file; the finished file is made on your device.
