How to use PNG to EPS
- Press Select pictures and choose one or many PNG files.
- Pick the options you want – they are set to the best choice already.
- Press Convert to EPS and download the file (several files come in one ZIP).
Transparency and vectors
EPS pictures cannot be transparent, so see-through parts of your PNG become white. If your printer needs a cut-ready vector logo, convert it with Image to SVG and send the SVG – or open it in Illustrator and save as EPS there.
About the formats
- PNG is a lossless picture format. It keeps every pixel exactly, supports transparent backgrounds and is ideal for logos, screenshots, icons and text, but photos become larger than JPG.
- EPS is Encapsulated PostScript, a print format understood by Illustrator, InDesign, CorelDRAW, QuarkXPress and professional printing workflows.
Tips
- Transparent areas of the PNG become white in EPS (EPS has no transparency for pictures).
- For a scalable logo that stays sharp at any size, trace it with Image to SVG and export EPS from there.
